How to Install a Towel Rings

A wide variety of accessories are required to complete a bathroom remodel or new build. Although there are many ways to organize towels, the towel ring is the best for hand towels near the sink. Towel rings can be easily installed over most bathroom walls.

CHOOSE A LOCATION

The first step in the installation is to choose the best place for the ring. To dry hands and fingers, most towel rings are placed next to a vanity or sink. The ring should be mounted high enough so that towels don't get dragged onto countertops or into the sink. Installing the ring onto drywall is the easiest, but you can also use a drill bit to make tile work. Professional installation is required for stone walls and backsplashes that cover the mounting area. Place the towel ring's base on the wall using a pencil.

DON'T OVERDRILL THE HOLES

Place the mounting place on top of the wall shape and centre it. Mark the locations of the mounting screws with the pencil. To drill two holes, remove the mounting plate. Use the right bit for the material on the wall. It can be difficult to drill tile without cracking so keep extra tiles in your toolbox for repairs if you have a problem.

ATTACH THE MOUNTING PLATE

To prevent fasteners from pulling apart from drywall materials, two anchors are often included. You can gently tap the anchors into the holes with a mallet or hammer until they are flush with the wall. To avoid damaging the wall's surface or pushing the anchors through the holes, work slowly and gently. Place the mounting plate on top of the anchors, and then use a Phillips head screwdriver to attach it through the anchors.

HANG THE RING

After the mounting plate has been attached flush, the ring base can be slipped over it and secured with one more slotted screw. Attach the set screw with a flathead screwdriver. To ensure that the base is perfectly aligned as it tightens use both your hands to start the screw.
